Let's see... I almost didn't make it to New Heart because I was sick the entire week leading up to it. How horrible is that? I was taking meds through Saturday morning even. Anyways, the VIP show was Friday night. We sat in the cold just a few hours since Meghan got there early and saved a spot at the front for us. Yay for Meghan! Some girls thought I looked cold and borrowed me a hoodie to wear over my sweater. (normally I wear my coat but I figured we'd get in and it wouldn't be bad so I didn't. poor planning on me) We stood in line and they let us upstairs a few at a time. The guys were there to greet us which was really nice. I got hugs and Mat yelled at me to take a bag cause I didn't grab/wasn't handed one. I calmed the spazoid down and took the bag and got my hug from him. Jonny asked how my son was which was really sweet of him to do. He's got some facial hair going on. I find it quite sexy on him. He looks 13 instead of 7 now! har har. Got a Dan hug too and a Greggums one as well. Elias was hiding somewhere. Stood frontish by Jon per usual. For some reason Mat was put on the left of teh stage instead of the middle. I knew that meant I'd be squished. I was. But I survived. I got a shit ton of pictures too. I got to see my Matty boo and Andy as well. I love those gayboys.
Beth and I walked over to the after party and had a couple drinks. Some creepy guys wanted to buy us drinks but we turned them down very fast. After finishing our drinks we walked around and danced a little. Jonny and Mat were djing in the corner. I got to see Eric too. Got an Eric hug and he disappeared. He's quick like that. Oh! Wyatt stayed at the same hotel as us so I saw him lots too. Got back to the hotel around 1 am and crashed hard.
Next day we woke up around ten for breakfast. We chilled at the hotel until around 1ish I think it was and started walking to the Vic. Matty and Andy met up with us along the way and took us to a slammin italian restuarant. I had cheesy ravioli. It was yummytastic. We walked to the line and chatted for awhile. Stephanie showed up and then one of our other friends told us she was saving a spot for us up front so we moved to the front of the line. Noice. People love me XD Mychell was there and we ended up going for a walk and checking out a store to stay warm. Then I went for a bathroom walk with a couple other people to Starshmucks. Got luke warm cocoa. They split the line into two parts. VIP and regular ticket holders which was rather cool. Apparently Garret was there as well and didn't see him. I AM SAD! I LOVE ME SOME GARRET. He's my favorite drummer :( I miss him. I bet his little boy is so big now. Anyways. So we got let in and ran up front to the left by Jonny. Per usual. The first two bands were okay I guess. KH came out to thunderous applause and screaming etc. Some girls started pushing up between and in front of us. twas annoying. however said girls lasted all of two songs before having to be pulled out so got my spot back. uccess! The show was awesome as always. It snowed, Mat humped and rode Frosty. There was Mat Jon slashyness and all sorts of greatness. Mat sang Little Drummer Boy. and did a cover of Apologize.
We went to the after party again and it was lame. We didn't stay long so I really didn't get to talk to my boys much his weekend. they better come to the Rave in the near future!
I have pictures posted in public albums at my myspace. www.myspace.com/domin8ed

My little man is 9 years old today. It seems like only yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital. Scary man.
Even scarier is that he has to share his birthday with the Cruisespawn. Oh well.
I'm gonna suprise him at school tomorrow with a few extra gifts just to make his day special.

[Wednesday, the 15 of March 2006 @11:28am] |
I so meant to update this sooner but I've been slacking and busy with work. After being upset about missing Detroit, I hauled myself off to Chicago early Sunday morning and man did I have fun! I met some awesome people in line. We waited inside until Security made us go outside. It was chilly but okay. Matt let me borrow his coat to stay warm because I had left mine in my car and Valet parked it god knows where. We only had to wait outside an hour because at four we went back in to get food and jump to the front of the line. Best decision we made all day. We got inside and ordered our food. I got mine first so I took it to sit in line with. I went and checked my camera for after the show and broken_bluchild went right after me I think to do the same. Either way she was in the gift shop after I left and suddenly she was walking over to me. She said she thought she saw Jyrki so I jumped up and ran over there with her. Sure enough he was shopping in the gift shop along with Archtzie and Bazie. We talked to Jyrki first and she took pictures on her camera for me. Wow was he tall! And so very sweet and kind. He was excited about the show and made sure to ask if we would clap when he asked us to onstage. I told him we'd pretty much do anything he asked hahaha. He gave us hugs when we asked, telling us that "hugs are for free". He was so nice and his accent..he was everything I knew he'd be. And after waiting that long it was great to meet him. Then we took pictures with the others before going into the restuarant giggling and notifying the others of their presence. They all jumped up and ran to the gift shop. It was funny. I went and got Jyrki's autograph quick before finally sitting down and trying to calm myself. I'm such a dork. Then when those three were gone one of the other girls was by the gift shop and she came back squealing Jussi's name so we jumped up and went back to see him. Now he is a lot smaller than I expected but just as sweet..and just as ripped. He was walking around with his shirt open, pants hanging down. I just stared at him like an idiot. broken_bluchild asked how he kept his pants up and he pointed at his belt and said it's called a belt. We laughed and told him it still seemed like he defied gravity somehow. We let him shop first and then got pictures and autographs from him. It was amazing. Unfortunately Timo Timo never came down which made me sad :(
We went back in line and then finally it was time to go up. I was actually the first in line...for the first time ever in my life so I got right in the middle of the stage. The first two bands were okay. I liked Program the Dead more then Damone. The singer was hot and he went onto the bar and stood right in front of me for part of the show. I didn't know what to do so I rubbed his hips hahaha. He told me after the show I should have groped him. Men >.< I got squished a lot and I was surprised security wasn't even in front of the stage until shortly into the Eyes set. Anyways, the guys were awesome! They love to play around onstage and have fun. Timo Timo was the big flirt, smiling and winking at me....and a lot of other girls in the front as well. Jussi liked to jerk off his drumsticks and spit water into the air. He and Jyrki both waved their ass at us too. I just had the greatest time ever and Jyrki promised more tours so I'm excited!
( Pictures clicky )
The other big news I have is that I was just named the Ambassador for the official US Rasmus Street Team. I'm very excited about that. I want to get them here next. And Negative too for that matter. America needs the finns! Anyways, if you're interested in joining the street team and such I can link you to the place to do it and all that. I'm still waiting for my phone call from the Record Label.
On top of all of that I got a promotion at work so I'm up to 40 hours a week just about finally and I'm training hardcore for CSR which includes a raise. Unfortunately It means I'm around the computer less which sucks cause I miss talking to certain people I can only talk to on the computer.

Dollface Divine--Head Rush |
] |
Wow. Last night was so fucking awesome. Where do I begin? I suppose I could mention that I sat outside the Metro from 11am until the time doors opened freezing my ass off. I could mention that we talked to the band Dollface Divine who are awesome dudes and everybody should go check out their myspace. I'm listening to their music as I type. Finally got inside and was right in front of Jon as usual. It was a magical moment because it was also my friend Chandra's first KH show. So she was extra giddy. The assasins were okay. I've seen worse opening acts and these guys were actually pretty good. When they finished the stage was readied for KH. Some tshirts were thrown out beforehand to get everybody riled up. I don't remember all the songs played or what order exactly but I know they played: Boys and Girls, Unwanted, Raining All the Time, Crazy Angel, Lips like Morphine, Black Poison Blood, Kennedy, Welcome to Chicago, New Heart, Under the Milky Way, Nerve Gas, Hummingbirds the Size of Bullets, and others. Mat also did an impromptu version of White Christmas during a broken string incident. The guys were all very energetic on stage, bouncing around and riling up the crowd. Mat reached into the audience a number of times and also climbed up on the barrier at different spots along the front row. At one point he was in front of me reaching out at fans over my head. I have to say this is an interesting spot to be in because I was exactly the right height um..yeah...anyways..so I watched everybody molest him and decided to play along. His shirt got pushed up slightly during the fracas so I rubbed his fuzzy tummy a little bit. and then I just used his hip as a pillow. It was that calm standing there. After that when they were going offstage I noticed Mat had happy pants XD Oh yeah Mat held my hand for five seconds and gave it a squeeze during one of the songs. Woopie dee do. I'm never washing my hand again, only not. Anyways, they played until exactly ten pm and then left the stage. Tommy Sunshine came out at one point before the end of the show in a Santa suit and threw more tshirts into the crowd. I got a couple decent pictures during the show and a couple at the after party. The only one I didn't get to talk to was Dan. Oh well.
( Pwetty pictures )
I found out Garret won't be touring with the guys when they start up again. But that's understandable...he just had a kid and wants more time at home with him. I just don't want to see him leave forever :( I only stayed at the after party until about 1am but it was cool nonetheless. And I got my copy of the dvd which makes me happy. There's so much hilarious stuff on it. I want to make screen caps at some point.
( after party pics )
That's all I really have to say about the show. It just totally got me back into wanting to see them on tour again. Oh yeah..this random dude behind me during the gig decided to just like..wrap his arm around me and use his other hand to brace against the barrier. It was interesting. He wasn't groping me so I didn't shove him away. and he kept me from getting squished! Bonus. He was cute too, but I'm fairly certain he was a few years younger than me. Today I started feeling the pain in my body and I can tell which areas got the most beating. Blah. I want a body massage.

First I took my son to Warped on Sunday in Milwaukee. We got there around 3pm and I had never been to Warped before so we just walked around looking at stuff. We ended up by the merch tents and I was perusing the Transplants stuff when my son asked if we could see the My Chem stuff. We walked over there and who do we standing there? Bob. And like nobody was talking to him. I was really surprised. We walked up and chatted with him. I was flattered he remembered me from Taste Of Chaos in Milwaukee and he was nice enough to take a picture with ( my son )
After that we purchased a pair of the Frankie like skeleton gloves and headed off to look around more. We wandered over to the AP tent and saw a huge line of people so I asked what was up. We were told that My Chem was going to be signing stuff in like 45 minutes. After looking at the line I was glad I had my AP Cut Pass and we joined the line up in front to wait.
( Pictures at the signing )
The guys were all really nice. Bob gave us a double take and asked if we had walked from hanging with him straight to the front of the line and I explained about the cut pass. Then we he saw my son he made a joke about how he and my son go way back. lol Frankie saw the gloves he was wearing (the skeleton ones) and told him that they were very cool. Gerard and I talked a little about Taste of Chaos and he remembered me as well. We went through the line fairly fast but they were all in good moods. There was a camera there videotaping and they got right in my son's face. He didn't know what to do so he just giggled. After the signing we went and listened to the Transplants and Offspring and a few others that played before My Chem was on. When it was time for My Chem everybody swarmed the stage so my son and I stayed in the back, climbing up on some ledges to watch. He sang along to his favorite songs and really got a kick out of it all. They played a half an hour set starting out with I'm Not Okay (I Promise). Gerard did a lot of swearing which my son pointed out to me afterwards but he assured me that he still thought they were cool nonetheless.
On Monday we headed to Chicago for the Q101 signing. Seeing as we had met My Chem once already, I was more interested in seeing the Transplants, but we decided to stay for MCR anyways. I was a bit sad that Tim didn't come for the Transplants signing but Travis and Rob were nice as were No Use For a Name and All American Rejects. We ended up first in line for the MCR signing and waited for two hours for them to come. We walked down and got our pictures signed and made jokes about seeing them again. Gerard called me Honey and said it was nice to see me again. Mikey didn't talk much at all but Frankie did. He actually made his goofy cheesy grin for me to take a picture of but dropped it too quickly so I didn't get it. And Bob gave us stickers and talked to my son a little bit again. There was a huge crowd so we didn't have a lot of time to be there. We said we'd see them in July at Warped in Chicago and left. All the way home my son babbled about them and how cool it was to meet them. Really I'm just glad he's happy, that made the last two days really worth it.

[Tuesday, the 23 of November 2004 @11:20pm] |
I am finally sitting and typing out my review of my HIM roadtrip weekend. Let's see if I can do it some justice in this little white box. I arrived in Detroit Thursday evening. It took us over 2 hours longer to get there than it should have because Chicago is a cunt and traffic there sucks dick. Anyways, Friday morning I arrived at the State Theater at 11am. There were four other people in line so I wasn't alone. We hung out and protected our front of the line spots together. Most of them were at the Detroit gig on the last tour and we recognized each other which was cool. Early in the day we saw Mige walking down the sidewalk so we went and talked with him. He was looking for a laundromat but sadly none of us were from the area either so we couldn't help. But he was nice enough to pose for pics and sign autographs. We got in around 7pm, wet and cranky. The security was awful and people were running like crazy and pushing and shoving. I got up front with my early morning crew but they prohibited digicams so I really didn't get any pictures of that gig. :( I was in front and slightly to the left of Valo's microphone. So kinda in front of Linde. You can find the setlist amongst the pictures in my photobucket which I will link in a bit. They played the same setlist in Chicago as well. And played a slightly different version in Minneapolis. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Ville made eye contact with most of the front row which caused much squealing and bouncing. I got smooshed but it was well worth it. The guys hopped right on the bus after and left.
It should be duly noted that I passed out HIM fliers for the 9th Circle street team at each gig. And a few cds as well. I did my job like a good girl, with some help. Anyways, I arrived in Chicago Saturday about 2 hours or so prior to the opening of the doors. I ran into someone from the Detroit gig and hopped in line with them after handing out my fliers. Then Sophia from the 9th Circle found me and we started talking so I decided to join her and her group in the balcony. She had made a huge banner for the guys all in finnish and from the 9C. It basically said they were immortal legends in america..or soon would be. She also called Seppo on his phone and was working on getting us into the meet and greet after the show. Gotta love that girl. We found our seats and chatted with the security guy guarding the VIP section next to us. At one point Jon, Mat and Greg from KH showed up and sat there. I got a hug from Jon and I chatted with Mat a little bit. He promised me a picture of him and Valo together but he never fulfilled that promise. >:-O It should also be noted that Mr Mat has some facial hair going on that slightly resembles Valo's. My guess is he was feeling too lazy to shave. Either way I thought it was cute and told him so while tugging lightly on his scruff. (I think the vodka cranberry drink I had made me less shy then normal. haha oops.) So the concert rocked and in between Monster Magnet and HIM Sophia and I leaned over the balcony to check out the crowd. Some annoying guys below yelled up that we should show them our titties, but seeing as none of them even resembled Ville we declined. Guys are so pervy haha. After the show we finally got somebody to radio backstage and we were led back there. We hung around for like..a half an hour before the guys came out. They charged me three fucking bucks for a bottle of water. Anyways, finally the guys came walking into the room. Mige remembered me from the day before. He did a wide eyed grin kinda thing when he saw me and was like.."I saw you yesterday!" Ville also remembered me from when we had met on the last tour and I had given him the bracelets I made for each of them. However, he said he was.."bad because they are still at my house and I haven't given them to the other guys yet." I forgave him lol.
The guys were kind enough to sign my Tenth Anniversary booklet thing. They each signed their faces. I talked with Ville and wished him a happy birthday. We showed him the banner Sophia made and he grinned as he read it. I gave him the two gifts I purchased for him. (A shot glass with VV on it and a lighter engraved to say "Stolen From Ville Valo") And he laughed and thanked me, telling me he knew what he would be doing later that evening. I got a great big hug from him, well more than one actually. Sophia had him autograph a picture of him and Bam from when they were cruising in the convertible in LA. I said conwertable and it started him off laughing again and he repeated the word. Hearing him say it in person was even funnier then on the making of video thing. Anyways, I wandered off and talked with Mige and Burton and Gas and Linde. Linde and Burton are like..huge next to me so when we had pictures taken they both squatted down to my height. Hence the cheesy grin on Burton's face in our picture together. Linde and I were cheek to cheek for a moment and I was all giddy. (Yes I am a dork sometimes I can't help it) Honestly, seeing him smile, which he rarely does, and getting to hear his voice as we talked, which rarely happens as well, was really cool. Linde is an awesome guy and musician. I eventually went back over by Ville and asked if he'd say hi to my friend that I had called. He obliged and had a five minute conversation with her. (Hi Christina!!) I turned around as he was talking and was face to face with Dave from Monster Magnet. He grinned at me and said he remembered me from being in the front row in Detroit. I blushed and he pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head. We posed for a picture and soon it was time to go :/ After many stalker jokes, thanks to Sophia, we said goodbye and I told them I'd see them the next day.
I arrived in Minneapolis about 3 hours before the door opened. I ran into more people who remembered me from the Detroit gig on the last tour. (It's a small world aaaaaafter aaaaaaall) We went inside and I was front row again. Except after Monster Magnet I got so smooshed I was pulled out. And that pissed me off because this time I could use my digicam. So I got nice closeups of Auf Der Maur and Monster Magnet but not HIM. sigh. I went by the backstage door for most of the gig where this creepy security guy hit on me. Melissa came out and I got a pic with her. Then Seppo came out and we chatted a little. The gig was just as awesome as the rest, with a few differences in songs. (see pictures of setlist). I went outside by the tour bus since I had to wait for my ride anyways and ended up talking to some of the people I had made friends with inside. They all kept asking me about the night before and if I thought the guys would come out and sign stuff or not. Apparently I looked like the all knowing source of information. We waited awhile in the freezing cold and my body slowly went numb. Which was nice since I couldn't feel all the bruises on it anymore. Anyways, we walked towards the alley and the guys were coming out. They walked quickly towards the bar next door, Ville running inside and the other guys stopping for a moment to sign stuff. (though I didn't see burton anywhere). Being over 21 I went into the bar with the guys and ended up having two drinks while waiting for my ride and chatting with the guys for a little bit. I didn't want to be a bother so I only talked a little bit. Ville ran into the back VIP room shortly after entering the bar so it was really only Mige Gas and Linde. I asked Mige if they were leaving to Denver right away and he said yes. So I wished them a safe drive and thus ends my weekend of fun.

Muse kicked ass but they confiscated the batteries from my digicam so no pics. Suckage.
My back is killing me from standing. I'm so going to be dead after next weekend if I couldn't handle one concert. Oh well. I had a perfect view of Matt the whole show. Go me. I was second row but I was smooshed against some dudes back. ugh.
Must call Sand-lady with the name of the hotel we are staying at and figure out when we are meeting up. I assume it's in line again. I think I'm gonna go super early since I have to hand out fliers and shit. Greg has three fucking days to get those KH fliers on the KH website or I won't be able to hand those out for him. And it's their loss. I know I'll see the guys at the Chicago HIM show. I have to make Mat pose for that picture with Ville for me like he promised. I'm so evil. ugh I need to do some laundry so I have clean clothes for the trip. And pack some things to keep myself occupied in line. I can make the man come bring me lunch and stuff at some point. That's what he's good for. haha

My detailed report as a groupie for the weekend.
HIM, Kill Hannah and 18 Visions
Cleveland
( HIM setlist )
We left for Detroit on Thursday the 22nd at the buttcrack of dawn. I never wanna see the buttcrack of dawn again. It's not pretty. It was a little over a six hour drive and there wasn't much interesting to see during it at all. So I slept most of the way. (Obviously I wasn't the driver. ;) ) We checked into the Fairfield Inn when we arrived in Cleveland. I was dropped off at the Odeon around 3pm and there were already 20 people in line waiting. I alternated between sitting and standing for the four hours or so I was out there. One of the roadies came out and gave us HIM/Jagermeister lighters. And told us not to smoke. hah. The guys also showed up while we were sitting there. All but Ville. They arrived in a Holiday Inn shuttle bus. That was my first glimpse of them for the weekend and it just made me all the more excited. The KH guys wandered up and down the sidewalk a bit too. I said hi to Mat and he did a double take when he saw me. Guess he didn't think I'd drive all that way for a show. He gave me a nice hug though. I stood next to a Macaulay Culkin look alike who showed me his stomach tattoo and wrist heartagram. I felt slightly like a pedophile at that show. I was in the second row near Ville's mic but once the moshing started I got knocked to the ground and nearly trampled so once KH finished their set I crawled out and went to the back. It turned out to be a good move because I ran into Alley and we got to meet and talk for a bit. She's really nice and it was fun talking with her. We ooze cute, don't we? ;)
I wasn't very impressed with 18 Visions the first night but they started to grow on me. I couldn't hear Ville very well in back but I still enjoyed the show. I guess since I wasn't that close to the front or anything the fact that I just saw HIM live didn't sink in too quickly. They did a meet and greet for fans upstairs that had special passes so I just left and went back to my hotel room. Friday was a do nothing day. I slept late and then spent the afternoon at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Couldn't take my camera in but I did get a nice picture outside the building. The Hall of Fame was really cool. They had all sorts of memorabelia and what not. They had outfits and props from different performers. We saw some videos and listened to lots of songs. We watched "Butterfly Affect" that night and I really enjoyed it more than I thought it would. Ashton was pretty good.
Detroit
( HIM setlist )
Arrived in Detroit around 2pm on Saturday. Checked into the Comfort Suites and went to the line outside the Majestic at 3pm to wait the five hours till the doors opened. Again there were like 20 people there ahead of me. I spent my time people watching. Lots of bums walking around begging for money. This one lady came over asking for quarters and then sat in line with us. She pulled her shoes off and started picking her toes. Then she opened and closed her pants and scratched her head like crazy. Probably had lice. She talked to herself too. People started throwing quarters at her and she grabbed them and ran off. Sandra and friends showed up around 6pm and I finally had ticket in hand. She and her friends are super nice and we spent the remaining two hours of waiting time talking. There were a lot of skater kids there drawing Heartagrams on themselves. I was amused they were shelling out 50 bucks a pop for some backstage passes. Twas even more amusing when I met the guys after the show and didn't pay a thing. But I digress. This time when we went inside I was right in front right by Mige and Valo's mic. There was less moshing so I didn't get pushed down or anything. It was an awesome view. 18 Visions came out and smothered us in fog. Being up front I noticed that the more clothing the singer lost, the closer it got to the end of their set. When he was shirtless it was time for KH to come out. KH was awesome as usual. They have been singing Rebel Yell at every gig which is totally awesome. I got smooshed against the wooden stage and I wouldn't have been surprised to find an indentation running across my tits by the end of the show. I never looked though. hah. Mat gave me one of his guitar picks and I think I accidentally scratched his hand when he took it. Sorry Mat. :( HIM came out a bit later and this time I was able to see the smorgasbord of goodies Ville had behind him on stage. Beer, redbull, water, cups of with stuff in them, he was set. He would drink and stick his beer in his back pocket as he sang. They foamed up and he blew the foam at Mige. He wore an Elvis shirt. lol He only drank half of everything and did the same with his smokes, tossing half smoked butts on the stage. It amused me how slow and deliberate he was when lighting up, as if that was a show in itself. He made eye contact a lot and waved at people. He was all smiles and very happy. Somebody threw panties on stage and asked him to play Pretending so they did. Then another person said they lost their job to follow HIM on tour and asked to hear And Love Said No. They played that too. But Ville said their shows weren't losing your job over. Somebody in front gave him a tshirt and he took it saying thanks and that he needed more shirts cause he was always losing them. He leaned down so another person could light his smoke. Most of the show I admittedly spent watching Mige in action. I know you probably won't believe me but I think he really is my favorite. Everybody was shouting out Valo's name all night so during a quiet part I called out to Mige and he looked up at me and smiled, giving a little wave. Yes...I giggled at that. The show ended with Burton throwing his towel in the audience and Gas throwing out drumsticks. He was the last one on stage and gave a giant bow as everybody cheered on. Headed through the chaos to find Sandra and company and spotted Jon (Radtke from Kill Hannah). I talked to him in Cleveland so I was just gonna say a quick hi and bye on my way by but as I touched his arm to get his attention he pulled me into a big hug, kissed my cheek and said thanks for coming sweetie. or something similar. I laughed and complimented him on a great show, continuing on my way. Once we hooked up we went out back by the buses to wait. It was sprinkling out and kinda cold. Some of the roadies told us the band had left already and others said they were still coming.
I had to wait for my ride to come get me anyways so I stuck by the buses. Sandra had to go sadly so we said our goodbyes and I wandered around. I talked with Jon, Mat and Dan while I waited. I listened to some kids ask Mat what Ville was like and laughed as he started talking about him as if he was some awestruck in love fan. He called him a beautiful man and stuff like that. Everything the kids probably wanted to hear. About an hour and a half after the show the guys came out. Mige ran right on the bus so fast I didn't even see him. Linde smiled at us and said something about how cold it was outside and then went on the bus. Gas and Burton signed a few autographs and did pictures. I got a pic with Burton and when I turned to ask Gas for a picture with him he was gone. I turned back around and there was Ville. He's kinda small in person. I mean, obviously taller then me but of small build. He had a hoodie on and was in a very good mood, signing things and taking pictures, very accomodating. One guy asked if he would sing happy birthday in finnish to his girlfriend and he did.
I got a picture with him and we chatted a little. I gave him something I had made for him and the other guys and he made a comment about how it's a step different then tattooing your guy or girl's name on your chest, his hand moving over the side of his chest where the S was buried under his clothes. He thanked me for my gift and gave me a nice hug. And for anybody who wonders, yes he does smell good. Like cigarettes and pizza and something else. We asked if he could ask Mige to come out and he called to him, using his nickname, Mizee. Mige stumbled out squinting and I had a feeling he had been partaking a bit. I asked him if I could take a picture with him and he said sure. After that I left, not wanting to bother them too much. I told Ville I'd see him in Chicago and he grinned and said, "Yeah? Cool cool!" I think he's very pleased with the way the tour has been going.
Chicago
( HIM setlist )
I slept maybe three hours after the Detroit concert. I was so wired after meeting Ville, Mige and Burton that it was just hard to sleep long. We left early and drove back to Milwaukee where I uploaded my pictures and then took my car back to Chicago. I met Alexis at her place after getting slightly lost on stupid Chicago streets. We took the L train to the HOB and eventually went in to eat. As we ate, Gas walked past our table and I smiled and gave him a tiny wave. He smiled back. We took our receipt and went to the front of the long line that had already formed and apparently some people had been there since 8am but had no clue about the eat there and pass the line thing. Oops. We waited in line and I had to check my damn camera sob. But we got in front thanks to a fellow KH fan. Hee! 18 Visions set was shorter then the last shows and KH had a longer set because it was their home town. They played some older songs like "Trains Are So Loud" and "Hyperactive". Mat drenched us in water and handed out guitar picks again. He mentioned HIM and how cool it was to open for them. HIM came out around 9pm. This was the first show they didn't have the Heartagram backdrop hanging up. My guess is they weren't allowed to put it up because of the moniters hanging on the wall. Ville wore a Rolling Stones shirt this time. Sometime during the set Ville said he was depressed because he couldn't fit the beer bottles in his back pocket anymore. That between Detroit and Chicago he ate too much pizza and gained some weight. We all laughed and he started singing Join Me In Death. Someone threw a jacket they made at him and he looked it over, wiping the sweat from his face with it, and said that it probably wouldn't fit. Sure enough he put it on and drowned in it. He said it smelled good though. He stuffed beer bottles in the pockets and told the person who threw it to come get it back after the show cause they would be cold otherwise. Though after the show he decided to keep the thing and not give it back. He asked if anybody had heard about Love Metal and grinned like a cheshire cat when everybody screamed loudly and affirmatively. I yelled out to Burton this time since I was on his side and he raised his arm, pointed at me and returned the finger horns I had made at him. When the show ended I dragged Alexis around and introduced her to the KH guys, informing them of her KH concert virgin status. (You live in Chicago woman, that is such blasphemy! :^p ) As we talked to Mat I told him I was going to go check out the HIM merch and he called me a traitor. SOB Chatted with Dan and told him this was my last gig. Of course he immediately said, "Forever?" and I laughed and was like of course not. He laughed and said he'd see me in June then. The man knows me well. It's scary. I wonder if they are playing Summerfest again... Managed to buy a little bit of merch. A tshirt with US tour dates on it and a keychain. Most of the stuff was sold out. Went downstairs and got my camera back. We decided to hang around for awhile and ended up sitting in one of the stairwells with some girls who's mothers had gone upstairs to talk to the HIM guys for them. One of the girls drew a bunch of sketches of the guys and her mother managed to get them autographed. They were really good. She also had a sketch of Lauri Ylonen so we started chatting about The Rasmus. The moms came back down and said that Ville was having asthma issues and seemed to have the flu again. One of them asked him if maybe the cigerettes had something to do with it and he said something like, "Nope, not at all." The second time they went up and came back they brought Mige and Burton down with them. They also reported that some girls had dragged Ville into the girls room upstairs with them. The moms left and the girls hung around so we hung with them a bit longer. I really wanted a picture with Linde and Gas, the only two I hadn't gotten before so I was willing to lose a little sleep to get them. Alexis and I decided that if they weren't out by like 12:30am we were gonna hop the L and leave. Seppo came down and we said hi to him and then I saw Greg come down so I went and chatted with him for a moment and he confirmed the guys were still up there but he had to go. I turned around to tell Alexis and there were the guys stepping off the elevator, minus Mige who had gone to the bus already to ride it to Seattle. I walked up to Linde and asked to get a picture with him and he happily posed. I did the same with Gas and got another picture with Ville for the hell of it. I did notice this time that Ville's cheeks were a bit flushed. Not sure if that was from the flu he had or the drinks he consumed. He was in a good mood and all and he even remembered me from the night before which made me feel good. We thanked them for everything and wished them a good rest of the tour. I was a bit sad to not be going to any more shows. sniffle. I turned to locate Alexis and Jon was behind me again. He pulled me into a drunken hug and I said goodbye to him too. He's so cute. *laughs* Took the L back to my car, downed Red Bull and drove home, arriving around 2:30am. And so my weekend ends. I had so much fucking fun and i can't wait till the next time HIM does shows near me. It was worth the two year wait for them to get to the US.

Ten More Minutes With You---Kill Hannah |
] |
Place: The Rave in Milwaukee, WI Time: 8pm Opening Bands: Shattered Red and Oliver's Song
I arrived at the Rave shortly before 7pm. There were two people in line already so I slipped in behind them, clutching my french vanilla cappuccino to stay warm. I was expecting friends to meet me there and they showed up shortly after I did. Three of them had never seen Kill Hannah before, or heard their music so they were clueless what to expect. We probably waited in line for only a good 15 minutes before they let us in by the stage. I parked myself on the left side between Jon and Mat and we proceeded to wait for another hour.
The first opening band came out at 8pm. They were a local band called Shattered Red. They were pretty decent, most of their music was like mosh style though and they jumped around the stage like crazy. The lead singer was pretty cute though. There was one point where he came to the front of the stage right by me and leaned over it, singing. He looked at me and smiled so I turned to my friend and pretended to swoon while she laughed at me. They played a few more songs and then exited the stage. Apparently the guitar player threw his pick into the crowd and it hit me and my friend Aron on the shoulder. We had no idea what it was at first till he bent down and picked it up. So I have that guitar pick now. lol
The second opening band was Oliver's Song, and sadly, they sucked A LOT. Very emo, sorta reminded me of a horrible attempt at being Something Corporate or whatever. The guy sang too quiet and his songs really weren't that good. Honestly, the only cheering he got was when he took off his shirt. :x I did grab his setlist for shits and giggles though. On the back of it was music homework. ha!
Finally, Kill Hannah came out around 10pm. Garret set up his own drumset like he always does and then the guys did quick mic checks. The smoke machines started pumping and they ran on stage and started playing. I managed to grab Jon's setlist after the show so the songs they played were:
Big Shot Goodnite, Goodbye They Can't Save Us Now Ten More Minutes With You Boyz N Girls Hyperactive From Now On Raining All the Time Unwanted Lovesick Race The Dream New Heart For Xmas Kennedy
Jon spent a lot of time hanging over the front of the stage, and leaning on the speakers and stuff. I almost got whacked by his crotch and/or guitar a couple of times. I got a few pictures of him when he was looking down at me. (Yes I snuck my camera in. bad me.) I was afraid of blinding him so I didn't take many. There was one moment where Mat came over and leaned on Jon. It was the perfect photo op. I hope that one turned out. Sometime during the second song I think it was, Mat ripped all the guitar pics off his microphone and handed them out to a few people in front. He gave me one of them. That was cool. He played to the crowd a few times, reaching out and grabbing people's hands and stuff. He grabbed mine twice. (Lyke, I'm never gonna wash my hand again! only...not really. lol ) Dan was wearing the glitter under his eyes which I have always liked on him. Greg was wearing new pants with no holes in them. Guess he finally realized wearing those pants in winter would make him very sick.
They didn't do an encore because they chose to sing their encore song during the actual set. So it was sorta sad they didn't come back out at the end. At least on stage. But per usual, they spent as much time as they could milling around with all of us after the show, Mat taking pictures for the website, Greg selling merch and the rest of the guys signing autographs and what not. I gave Mat a picture my five year old son drew for him and the guys and he was greatly amused by it. Greg told me his three year old neice is the same way as my son. Wanting to listen to the cd all the time and such. He said he'd love to meet my son. And I told him I'd bring him to a show sometime, when it was more feasable.
They are selling camoflauge shirts like Jon's now, with Kill Hannah on the front and the heart with bullseye on the back. Why did I know that was bound to happen? We stuck around long enough for me to say hi to the guys and get a few pictures. I pretty much used up all of my film, then said goodbye and told them I'd see them at The House Of Blues.
We ended up going out to a goth club afterwards, which was fun. We didn't stay there super long but long enough to enjoy ourselves. I had no idea there was a goth club in my town until last night. hehe. And another person came up to me and asked me about my HIM shirt, telling me he loved the band as well and didn't think many other people around here knew they existed. So we chatted about their music for a bit. And that was my night! Pictures to come when I can afford to develop them.

In honor of this update I uploaded a Rufus icon. Go me.
Okay so Saturday I got to Chicago at about 5:45ish. We hit some bad traffic on the way down. And we ended up towards the end of a very long line waiting to get into the show. They patted us down and wouldn't let us bring cameras inside so I don't have any pictures from the show. I got inside and bought a tshirt right away. It's one of him that matches the cover of his new cd. And then I went to find a place to stand. Somehow I managed to find a place close to the front/middle of the stage. I was quite happy about that. Brian had no clue who we were going to see and even thought it was somebody else. That amused me. So he drank and stood with me during Martha's performance and then moved else where when Rufus came out.
I had been hoping to see Teddy but he had left the tour at this point. Maybe another time. Martha was very good, and interesting. I really like her voice and she's quite funny. I was rather peeved that everybody in the balcony talked during her performance. (And they talked really loud) It was quite rude. I felt bad for her. But she kept on singing, ignoring them and telling jokes. "If you buy my cd I'll sign it for you and we'll have a relationship. Of sorts."
Finally Rufus came out. I couldn't see him very well when he was at his piano but when he was sitting and playing the guitar he was quite close to me. He seemed to be in a very good mood and was cracking jokes left and right. He talked about how he went to see "Faust" the opera the night before. And talked about how it was about a man who sold his soul to satan for youth. And then he said he was starting to understand that better now, but just a little. He talked about how his hotel was next to Ann Sathers House of Swedish Meatballs or whatever it was called and how he was addicted to them. (Even sang "Cigarettes and chocolate milk andswedishmeatballs) Somebody yelled out that he was gorgeous and he said "Thank you, these are women's pants and they show off my ass so much better".
He sang a lot of songs from his new album and a spattering of his older songs as well. I started to get annoyed by the girls in front of me because they kept asking what each song was and they thought Martha was his mother. oooooookay.
I liked the song "Gay Messiah" and I laughed when he said that the bible says gay people don't exist but that there were gay people in it. "Like King David was gay. He danced around naked and liked poetry." Somebody yelled out "Jesus" and Rufus laughed saying he wasn't going to go there and pantomined lightening striking him down on stage. He sang California and messed up part of it and started over. Saying he "came" too soon. lol He talked about how his father has a small part in the movie "Big Fish".
I'll probably edit and add to this but overall I really enjoyed his show. And even Brian, who had no idea who Rufus was at first, ended up saying he had a good time. (after I found him after the show lol) Other then the no cameras, the annoying chatter during Martha's performance, and the feeling of being a sardine, I couldn't have asked for a better show. I just wish I could have met him after the show. :/ maybe next time.
Edit: He did three encores. He didn't sing Hallelujah but that's okay. He sang one song, I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head, but said he used it to seduce an oil rig worker in Montreal. Some guy in the audience yelled out that it was him and Rufus said "No it waaaaaasn't."
